This week Microsoft is talking to the government about a settlement in what is being called the "Industrial Case Of The Century." Microsoft vs. The Department Of Justice. The case is based on the government's claim the Microsoft has a monopoly on the computer software market and are illegally gaining ground on the internet browser market by bundling Internet Explorer 4.01 with Windows 98. However Microsoft's side is that the browser is an integrated part of Windows 98. It runs the new system of file managing as well as being a web browser. Microsoft is saying they will talk to the government about changing the way they do business, but not about unintegrating Internet Explorer from Windows.. At the recent Windows World 99 Expo in Chicago Microsoft revealed their new operating system, Windows 2000.
